PLACEBO EFFECT
even though they were
only dreams that died
is the pain real

I CRY
I cry blood, dreams, and poems
I cry for what I don’t have
but only as a tenderness inside
as shivering eyes
if I can’t get that to love
I will shed it as a brook, a river, a flood
let the whole world heave with my pain
because you
are not mine

HEAVY TEARS
you did hear
so very far
how I started to get tired
under the loneliness
and even if I tried to
comfort myself with memories
of where they originally came from
and why
it just weighed more and more
my love
I go and rest for a while
see you, when we meet
talk to you, when we reach out to touch
and then
let’s cry or laugh
but ponder in peace
how much pure love
we have left
from the time before loneliness

IN THE DUCK HAWK’S LAND
the boat glides slowly
while the soft trail melts in the lake
like a secret
from the white mountain tops
I remember
– it could be colder
yesterday is as icy frost
in my mind
the darkness vanished
already a long time ago
left the silence hanging in the air
only the light in its brightness
echoes against the shadows
water is true when I touch it
but I can’t reach the silence
the loneliness doesn’t let me go

NOBODY WATERED THE FLOWERS
when I finally understood
I was holding hands
with dying love
I prayed
please wake up
don’t leave us
don’t go
but it just turned its head away
and sighed silently
its last breath
as if stating:
you should have
taken better care

WITHOUT THE STARS
hey
I had a dream about you
you came to my place
took my hand and told me
that outside the stars were raining down
and you were afraid
that the world will change
that the stars will die on the ground
and never fly back to the sky anymore
then you left crying
and I stayed home wondering
why did it have to rain stars
why did you have to go so far
for what, from where
all this sadness
